Executive Director/Policy Director
Infant Toddler Early Childhood Project Manager

Executive Director/Policy Director

We are currently seeking an Executive Director/Policy Director who will work with the Coalition’s Board of Directors and staff to build a strong, sustainable organization and to advance policies, programs, and funding to support young children’s healthy development and early learning. This position will focus on organizational leadership, funding, and building strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders in order to effectively carry out the Coalition’s mission. This position is also responsible for developing and advancing early childhood policy priorities, working directly with policymakers as well as with the Coalition Board, staff, and members, a lobbying team, and other early childhood partners.

The ideal candidate for this position will bring a passion for early education and the wellbeing of our state’s youngest children and their families. This position requires a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Public Policy, Public Administration or related field, or equivalent education and experience. Qualified candidates must have at least five years of experience and a successful track record in leading the development of early childhood policy and advocacy efforts at the state or national level. Prior nonprofit management, effective communications and presentation skills, and experience working with partners and policymakers is desired.

Infant Toddler Early Childhood Project Manager

We are hiring an Infant Toddler Early Childhood Project Manager who will work directly with the NC Early Education Coalition Board of Directors and staff to coordinate and manage all of the special Infant Toddler (IT) projects supported by the Think Babies™ NC Alliance. This position focuses specifically on infant toddler child care and home visiting/parenting education policy development and promotion, public awareness, community engagement, and education and advocacy efforts with early childhood stakeholders and policymakers.

The ideal candidate for this position will bring a passion for early education and the wellbeing of our state’s youngest children and their families. This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Public Policy, Public Administration or related field with at least five years of experience working on early childhood issues, preferably Infant Toddler issues, including project management, policy development, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy. Prior experience working at the state or federal level, managing new projects, and working with multiple early childhood partners and stakeholders is desired.
